Exercise 2 - Funnel and Aluminum Can
Draw a cone and a cylinder. Start by drawing a cube in perspective with your lightest pencil (or ink). Then use the cube as a starting point to construct the other forms. Do NOT erase the construction lines (the cube). Use your lightest value for all lines until you have "found" the correct form. Then draw only the visible lines using a darker value. Add surface shading and cast shadows.
Deliverables
2 sketches on separate sheets of paper
Evaluation Criteria
1. Perspective Accuracy (as evidenced by construction lines)
2. Line Quality (clean and confident)
3. Rendering/Shading Quality
4. Readability (multiple line weights, broad value range, etc)
5. Level of detail (features, surface textures, etc)
